Pointers for Biographies!
It would be fabulous if everyone could just self-check over their biographies before submitting them for acceptance. Below are some pointers to help get you on the fast track to character acceptance, and role play~!
- We have loose rules about our biographies, but do you have two six to eight sentence paragraphs for appearance, three for personality, and three for your character's history. On BotG, we are firm upon these standards. If you need help figuring out traits and such, there are plenty of sites to help you.
-Check your spelling, grammar, and sentence structure. This is the silliest reason for bios to be rejected. There are plenty of ways to check your spelling- online resources, most word processing programs, and Chrome even comes with a spell checker pre-installed! Just run through your biography and get rid of all of those green and red squiggly lines.
-Make sure your character has a balance of positive and negative traits. It's alright to play a peppy, beautiful girl, but make sure they have some sort of flaw- be it talking too much, terrible acne, or bad body odor. Likewise if you play an ugly, hated character- have them be a master painter.
-On the same lines, make sure you have a plausible history when speaking about your character's mortal parent. Why were they special enough to be noticed by a god, or, why would they give up their child in the first place? What events are important enough to really stick in your character's history?
