theodore cassano is a fairly short man, in all actuality. his reputation has him standing at almost seven feet tall, which wild black hair and intense, terrifying blue-green eyes. in all actuality, teddy only stands at about five foot, eight inches. his dark auburn, almost black hair, is cropped short, though does have a tendency to stick up every-place, like he just woke up from bed.

his eyes, however, are exactly what people expect them to be. with a tint like the sea itself, theodore's blue-green (more green than blue) eyes have that ability to, if he's looking at you in the right manner, give you the feeling of piercing into your very soul. with the scruff on his face, (shaving is for wimps, after all) teddy pulls together the tough look, tough attitude of any respectable child of ares.

teddy is quite a bold young man. he hardly ever stops to think things through. very much a 'get in your face' kind of young man, theodore is often on the front lines of any arguments that he gets into. however, that's not to say that teddy is stupid. he can be quite clever, when there are times that he gets into something that forces him to stop and think. he also has quite the habit of committing himself to things and becoming over-obsessed with them, being quite excessive.

However, theodore also has a habit of becoming extremely discouraged when something happens to throw him down into the dirt, whether literally or figuratively. it takes him quite a while to get over it, when something like that happens. easily discouraged is not, however, his fatal flaw (though it could totally be a close second). it would be jealousy. teddy is quite a jealous man, becoming jealous over many things; other kids getting a quest (he has never been on a quest before, however there are some years as a child where he went back 'home' for a while. currently, he stays at the camp full time as a head counselor).

the biggest fear that teddy has is a fear of being forgotten; the fear of his father laughing in his face, turning his back on him, and forgetting about him. he wants nothing more than to be the shining star, the best, the beast. he trains night and day, trying to accomplish this, trying to become noticed for something that he's done. a second fear of theodore's is not something that he would ever, ever admit, to anyone. a fear of the dark. a fear of the dark so bad that, unless there's light in the cabins, he's more inclined to sleep in the forges where the fires never die. he has started to believe that this fear is the reason that he's not being noticed (that someone found out and won't let him go forward in life).

teddy lived a normal life, really, until his second year of high school. he lived with his parents; his mother, mortal, was a nice, beautiful woman, a frilly kind of thing. she was a model for a magazine when she was younger, and had managed a nice little lump of money that she had been smart with. teddy never lived on the fringes of things, he'd gotten almost anything that he had asked for, actually. except for the truth about his real father. his step-dad had never claimed him, and always shunned him as being the bastard of the family (his step-father made a point to adorn his own born children with better things if theodore ever asked him for something, it was always teddy's mom that was nice to him).

not that theodore really cared about his step-father. in fact, he would often go out and tell tall tales to his friends about who his real father was, making him up over and over again as this awesomely amazing man. he never did really know anything about him. until one day in class, just like every other day, it seemed, his mother ended up in a serious car crash with his step-father. he got the call to come to the hospital. it was there that she told him who his father was, on her death bed, and just before she had passed away, given him a choice; to go to a mysterious address in new york where he would find people who would explain things to him much better than she ever could, or to stay with his step-father, who had 'promised' to take care of him. teddy jumped at the chance to get away, and left after his mother passed away.

for the first few years, he ended up going back home during the school year, and only coming back during the summer, but as the time went on, his step-father expected him to stop going completely. he felt at home at camp, and chose to start staying full time, year-round, and going home less and less. he continued to visit every couple of years until the past seven years. a falling out with his step-father, bigger than any he'd had before, has kept him at camp for the past seven years, with no way out. no quests, no nothing. currently, theodore is trying to prove himself the best man at camp, and struggling to find a quest of his own, or anything of his own, to be honest.
